Frequently Asked Questions
How are you different from an agency or consultancy?
Take a look at the CVs of the people in MI and you'll see instantly. Firstly we've been around a very long while, secondly we've worked on your side of the desk and thirdly we do not employ any junior staff. You're very important to us and we respect that by NOT palming off inexperienced people on you.
What is your approach to business?
We know that it is no longer possible to "keep secrets". We share our knowledge with you, we work with you to help you achieve your goals. Because we have no "back office" of either creative staff or programmers we have no vested interest in creating "work for work's sake". And because we work with you - from beginning to end if you want us to - we'll take responsibility for and ownership of what we propose.
Whom have you worked for?
We have worked for over 200 vendors, the nature of what we do means that we cannot say precisely what we have done for which companies as this is commercially sensitive for them.
When were you founded?
In 1989, as PCMC, which became part of The Opus Group in 1996. In 2001, The Opus Group was sold to Interpublic and the senior consultants then formed Marketing Improvement.
How do you get the work done?
Much of it we do within our own resources. But we also work very closely with a limited number of partner organisations -for specific skill sets. This gives us flexibility, keeps costs down and ensures you have the best people doing your work - whatever it may be. We manage ALL the projects and take full responsibility for the delivery of everything to your requirements.
How do you charge?
It depends on the nature of the project - but thanks to our organisational structure we carry few of the overheads of "traditional" consultancies or agencies and our fees reflect this. We operate several charging structures - by the project, by the day, performance-related. How we charge is up to you, not us.
Can you provide references?
Absolutely. Of course to preserve client confidentiality we ask referees first if they have any objection to our passing their name to you.
